Fierce fashion designer, Carrie Hammer, decided to mix things up last year at New York Fashion week by hiring actual role models, rather than runway models, to walk in her fashion show. Hammer chose successful women with empowering stories to represent her line. In an interview with Forbes, Hammer stated, “I realized this was a great opportunity to show young women that role models are the ones they should be looking up to.”
Some of the inspiring role models that have appeared in Hammer’s shows include a CEO, an amputee, a disabled psychologist, a veteran, and many other inspiring women.
Now, Hammer is collaborating with the company popexpert to launch the The CARRIE HAMMER Role Model series. Hammer explains in the interview that the series, “features our 22 role models giving advice on their paths and careers. These women are trailblazers and having them share their experiences is incredibly valuable.”
