5 Ways to Master Your Flawless, Feminine Style

Today’s fashion is definitely taking a fun and creative turn. Designers are playing with cuts and colors, and boundaries of gender are being challenged and pushed every day. However, between all the androgynous and masculine elements that are flooding the runways, sometimes it’s easy to dismiss the wonderful aspects of dressing like a woman. Remember, it’s okay to enjoy femininity.

Looking feminine doesn’t imply you don’t also look perfectly professional, and any woman who wants to embrace traditional marks of her gender can do that. All you need are some staple pieces and some easy tips and tricks to look and feel incredible in and outside the office.

Color makes a difference

Gentle pastels are always a good choice, so go for rose, peach, lavender, or minty green shades. Pair them with white garments and simple jewelry. Pearls are a particularly great idea because they represent a certain timeless elegance and they’re perfectly appropriate for the office.

With that in mind, know that you’re not limited to just soft shades. Red, for example, is a classic, gorgeous color that’s just as feminine. It represents power and sex appeal, and while it can be quite daring, you can easily keep it subtle by pairing it with a grey suit. Off-white shades, dove grey, burgundy, terracotta, turquoise, royal blue, and powder rose are just some of the examples of great colors that you can use in your palette.

Dress for success

It’s really a straightforward, easy way to look feminine – just wear a dress. Now, a lot of ladies are afraid of skirts and dresses for various reasons. Maybe they don’t like to show off their legs, or maybe they’re just not used to wearing such garments, but trust us, there’s a dress out there for every body shape and preference.

Wrap dresses are particularly easy to pull off because of their fit-and-flare silhouette. This particular style will enhance your waist, creating an hourglass shape, and it looks good on pretty much anyone. You can also opt for a simple yet chic pencil skirt and button-down blouse combos. A well-fitted blazer completes the look. Seriously, a suit jacket will make any outfit polished and professional.

Statement outerwear

Outwear is an essential part of anyone’s wardrobe simply because it’s usually a garment we wear more often than anything else. You can easily find plenty of gorgeous women’s jackets around, so pick the kind that you think will match your general style. There’s absolutely nothing quite as sleek as a good coat, but you can also pick a white denim jacket for the warmer weather, or even a short-sleeved kimono just to throw over your outfit. Invest in something that makes you feel nice, and then you’ll be happy to wear it every day.

Delicate materials and accessories

Details matter. Let’s say you’re wearing a black pantsuit, for example. A slightly masculine garment on its own, and nothing all that spectacular about it. However, imagine a silk camisole underneath that suit jacket, or delicate lace detailing along the hemlines and sleeves. Perhaps you’ve got a pretty hair comb to pin your hair, or maybe you’ve got a beautiful statement bag hanging on your arm.

Details such as these make all the difference in the world, and you want to pay special attention to the kind of shoes you pick. Heels? Always feminine. Simple black pumps will get you through anything, but so will a trendy pair of mules, or ballet flats.

Soft makeup

Makeup is an important part of any woman’s style, and the best way to get that moment where you’re really feeling all pretty and feminine is to make sure your face is flawless. Use a good foundation that will give you a nice dewy look, for example, Too Faced’s Born This Way. Alternatively, if your face tends to get oily throughout the day, pick their Peach Perfect foundation because it’s one of the best ones you can choose for a more matte, transfer-proof look). Once you have a good base, the rest is easy. Just keep your eye makeup soft and gentle, and use a good blush (Milani’s Luminoso is a nice choice).

In the end, femininity is what you make of it. If you feel good in what you’re wearing then that is the essence of lady-like grace. So whether you’re in a boxy pantsuit or a frilly skirt, embrace who you are and enjoy it.
