“I just encourage anyone out there, any woman, if you don’t feel like you’re completely happy or you have that sense of purpose that you once had or you’re longing for, that you see in other people: dig deep within and, just, what lights you up… go chase after that.”
To kick our brand new Power of Your Story series, we’re featuring the fiercely inspiring Dr. Teri DeLucca, founder of Impact Early Education and a She Is Fierce! member and past speaker.
Her story is one of a woman who dreamed about building something big, purposeful, and all her own for years.
Five years ago, when her life circumstances changed through divorce, she decided it was time to pursue her dreams… that decision was the start of her successful business, Impact Early Education!

About Teri
![]()
Teri began her career as a research scientist with a children’s early literacy program. Working with teachers and students at impoverished schools with the Heart of America Foundation in Washington, DC, proved pivotal in her life’s work and motivated her to further her education to have a larger impact.
She later became the Vice President of Operations for a system of privately owned preschools, where she learned the skills of leadership, training, and coaching teachers and directors so they could deliver the highest quality early learning experiences.
Five years ago, when her life circumstances changed through divorce, she decided it was time to pursue her dreams. That decision was the start of her successful business, Impact Early Education!
Her goal is to create change and impact early education from top to bottom, not just in the care teachers provide, but in the way they think and feel about their jobs, the way the world views the role of an early educator, and the way directors and owners lead and operate their centers.
She believes that through these aspects, the moving parts can come together with excellence and work like a well-oiled machine to produce the exceptional learning centers children, teachers, and directors deserve.
Teri has a Dual PhD in Developmental Psychology and Educational Psychology, and is a member of the John Maxwell Team of Certified Coaches, Trainers, & Speakers. She has been recognized with a Top 40 Under 40 Business Leaders award, and her research has been recognized by the Academic Pediatric Association’s Young Investigator Award, the Goldman Developmental Research Award, and the O. Ruth McQuown Women in Science Award.
