#50: Special Request – Share Your Story

< back to blog home

This is our FIFTIETH PODCAST EPISODE! Can you believe it?! I have to say, this season has been my favorite! I have loved sharing the stories of powerful, fierce and mission-driven women and I loved working on the Heirloom Summer School series and sharing some of the lessons I’ve learned over the years of building She Is Fierce! And working with thousands of women all over the world!

So, it is fitting that in this fiftieth episode, I have a very special request for YOU!

I’ve never done this before, but I need help from YOU and all the women in our community!

I’m working on some projects I’m very excited about sharing… but first, I have to get them done!

And I can’t do them without you.

I am working on research on two different topics (and at least one of these may end up in a book!) and I need personal anecdotal evidence from women in our community and / or stories or insights you may have that could help!

So, let me share more!

There are two totally different topics – the first is very much an extension of our She Is Fierce! Mission of ‘Elevating women’s stories and giving you the tools you need to succeed.’

The second is a call-out for your opinions, your personal experiences and your insights into how language used by the media and leaders in your own community has impacted your world or the world of a girl in your sphere.

So, let’s talk about Topic #1: Your Powerful Personal Stories

I am looking for women who have a powerful personal story to submit your story for publication!

These may end up in a book, in the research paper, and they may also be featured on our website!

If you have a powerful personal story of overcoming challenges, serving others, building a business, embracing motherhood or any other topic you think would be inspiring to other women… please share it with me by emailing info@sheisfiercehq.com!

The team and I will be regularly checking that inbox to make sure we’re including as many of your stories as possible!

You can submit your story in written form or take a video of yourself sharing your story.

If you’d like to be featured, please include a photo of yourself – preferably not a headshot but a photo of you in real life…

So, for example, if your story is about being an athlete, include a team photo. If your story is about your business or community work, please include a photo of you doing that work!

The second request is a little different and can be about your own story but could also be more of an insight you’ve had in your experiences as a woman…

The project is about how the language we use when talking about and to school-age girls in elementary and middle school, ages 6-14, impacts their confidence, their feelings of self-worth and the way they are treated by others, including boys, and grown men and grown women.

If you have a personal experience or insight from your own life – maybe about a time when someone said something – whether intentionally or in an offhand way – that stuck with you and helped form your sense of self (whether for good or for bad), I’d love to hear about it.

This could be one comment or it could be a lifetime of messages you received – whatever you would most like to share!

Or, if you are a mom, grandmother, aunt or in any other caregiving role and you’ve seen the impact the language a school uses, the news uses, social media influencers use or even the peer group of the girl in your world uses has impacted her, I’d love to learn more.

Your shares can be public or they can be kept private and only used for research purposes, just let me know in writing when you email if you would like anything to be kept private and I will make sure it is.

Thank you so much for listening and for considering sharing your own experiences and insights – I am looking forward to learning so much from all of you and sharing the results of this research with you in the months to come!

And – don’t worry, I’ll be back next week with another interview with a fierce woman!
