I Have Doubts

I have doubts.  Doubts about whether I’ll reach the personal, career and life goals I’ve set for myself. I have doubts about whether I’ll be able to keep up with my daily exercise and healthy eating. I have doubts about whether I’ll perform to the best of my ability most of my days here on Earth. I have doubts about whether I’ll be able to keep my cool and be mindful when I get frustrated and upset when things don’t go my way.

But, you know what? One thing I don’t doubt, is that life will be unpredictable, always changing and always interesting, for better or for worse. This I do accept and am okay with, if I’m mindful. I try to continually practice using my wise mind versus my emotional mind when dealing with life’s challenges.

I’ve recently started to truly believe that your mindset and thoughts are really what can take you to the next level, give you that boost of confidence and help shape your attitude. Think about how powerful this realization is, and how destructive it is when your own thoughts turn negative, fearful and insecure.

I’ve said it through my daily affirmations and I’ll say it again, doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will. If you constantly allow your doubts and worries to control you, your thinking will turn negative, become habit and eventually break you down, and you will experience suffering.

William Shakespeare once said, “Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we might oft win by fearing to attempt.” He’s right. Go where the light is, where the joy, support and encouragement exists. Go where the love is and surround yourself with people who love you for who you are. You should never choose someone who needs to think twice about choosing you.

If people are doubting how far you’ll go, go so far that you can’t hear them anymore.
