Embracing a Make-Up Free Face

Uplifting spirits through self-esteem is the most important empowerment in a world full of beautiful women.  Every woman is special in her very own way so it’s so important to show your natural beauty. Many times women feel that makeup will cover the flaws of their skin, but makeup is the true definition of defying the natural face to “increase” beauty.  I use to feel like makeup would fix the heavy bags under my eyes from lack of sleep and working two jobs; then I found out that am highly allergic to certain makeup and it was actually making my skin worse.

One day I went to work and asked a co-worker of mine who wears makeup on a daily if she would ever go a day with-out makeup, and she said, “No!”

I used to feel the same way but that soon changed after having botox aswell as properly looking after my skin. I have to admit there are certain times now that I will occasionally put on makeup for certain events and dates with my fiance but I have learned to love the skin I’m in on my own. I am truly proud that I can keep a bare face and say that I am beautiful without covering my many blemishes and skin flaws. Beauty runs skin deep – it’s not who you are on the outside but who you are on the inside.

With a heart of gold, you can still wear a bare face and look flawless!

Here are a few tips that will help…

First, you must have confidence and take pride in your natural beauty.

Makeup is fun to play with but should not be used a mask to hide behind. I believe that all women look beautiful without makeup. Next, smile! Let the world see your face, flaws and all.  A smile can go a long way and speak values into healthy skin.

A healthy diet and lots of water will also help protect your face from blemishes.

I notice when I eat more fruits and vegetables by body instantly feels a burst of energy!

Properly prep your face in the morning and at night.

Find a foam wash catered to your face flaws and let the magic begin to surface the skin on your face. It is always important to have a routine and a skin regiment that works best for your face. Some women have oily to dry skin so it’s important to pick the right skin care.

Stay groomed.

Grooming is the key to a non-hairy face. In other words, If your eyebrows are thick and grow fast make sure you snip them so your face will be well groomed and clean. Believe it or not, keeping your hair healthy will help your face look more healthier and beautiful.

Sleep is so important to natural beauty.

When you sleep your skin rejuvenates itself, making youthful and flawless glow to the skin. However, if your body doesn’t have enough time to replenish it’s resources, then you end up with bags and dull tired skin.

Love your lashes.

Make sure to always bring out the beauty in your eyes. You don’t have to use mascara to accomplish long lavish looking eyelashes. Therefore, it is important to keep a lash curler handy in your beauty bag.

Say yes to sunscreen.

This will protect your skin and avoid fine lines and wrinkles. Dark spots are horrible so make sure that your moisturizer has SPF. Even when it’s gloomy outside, harmful rays can still cause damage to the skin. You will thank yourself tomorrow and twenty years from now you will remain in good skin conditions.

Go be your natural, flawless self!

Thanks for sharing this Cassie; I think that it’s one of the ways women can celebrate their individuality while freeing themselves of the pressure to conform to society’s idea of femininity. ‘Forget all that make-up nonsense’ is one of the bits of advice I’d give my younger self, because I wish I’d felt confident about being beautiful enough without it. I stopped wearing make-up every day when I was in my thirties. It wasn’t a conscious decision at the time (probably a bit of laziness!) and I carried on wearing mascara most days and then even that stopped. To be honest when I started an early menopause in my forties and had hot flushes/sweats, it was so much easier to just be able to wash my face with cold water throughout the day to cool off! Now I only wear ‘full’ make up once in a blue moon for a very special occasion and at other times the mascara might come out of hiding!

  2. I love this Cassie!

There was once a time when I wouldn’t have faced my own family without make-up, I would even wake up earlier than my husband to “put on my face” and then get back into bed (oh my!)

These days I keep it simple with Jojoba oil, sunscreen and a Shu Umera eyelash curler — plus bronzer if I’m feeling extravagant! Not wearing makeup everyday makes the times when I do dress up even more special.
