YouTube launched its newest campaign, #DearMe, just in time for International Women’s Day.
The #DearMe campaign encourages women to upload videos of themselves offering advice to their younger selves. YouTube’s marketing manager, Cathy Tang, wrote on the site’s official blog, “Whether you’re worrying about your body, fearing being afraid, questioning who you are, failing to fulfill stereotypes, or learning to be comfortable being your weird, wonderful self, you can share your experiences to help make that journey easier for a new generation of girls.”
Tang goes on to say, “YouTube is a place where people can come together, share interests, relate experiences and offer each other support. From #ItGetsBetter to #ProudtoPlay, we’ve seen our community inspire and empower those in need of encouragement. Today, we’re asking you to do the same for girls who don’t have to face their problems alone.”
We love the messages shared in these videos of celebrating your uniqueness and embracing who you really are. What advice would you give to your younger self? Make sure to watch the #DearMe campaign video above and maybe even upload a video yourself!
