Meet Kiran Panjwani, Founder of sQuishloc. Kiran took a leap into entrepreneurship and created sQuishloc, a reusable, collapsible and convenient pouch for on-the-go needs. With perseverance and dedication to her business, Kiran continues to pursue her goals and build her business!

How did you know it was time to start your own business?

I always had the entrepreneurial bug also it helps when you come from a family of entrepreneurs, you grow up learning about the challenges of running a business. When I finished designing and prototyping I realized, through primary research that there were many more uses to the product than I had initially thought off and that’s how I landed on starting my first business.

If you had to start over in this journey, what would you change?

I would build a more airtight marketing plan, just like it’s important to open a physical store at the right location to gain traction, I believe it is as important to have a good marketing strategy to reach your target market.

What piece of advice would you give to someone that wants to launch into something new like this?

If you can validate it, launch it! When I say validate, I mean reach out to your target market and see if there is interest, don’t just ask your family and friends.

What has been your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur?

The whole experience of starting a business is challenging there is never a dull moment. You are always thinking of the next step – I think staying organized and on top of things is my biggest challenge, the task list never ends.

What is your work-life balance philosophy?

At some point I hope I can build a balance, for now my work is integrated into my life. I have a full time job and I work on my business evenings and weekends. I do try and make sure I take time to recharge- essentially, Work hard, play hard!

What makes you fierce?

I believe in what I do. My perseverance is what has kept me going. When you start a business the only person with most at stake initially, is the founder, and that’s what drives me to keep working towards my goals.
